For patients missing one tooth or singular teeth in multiple areas, Dr. Reger recommends a singular implant topped with a custom made porcelain crown. He’ll customize your crown to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile.
During single tooth restoration, Dr. Reger will install the titanium fixture after which you’ll return to our San Antonio office for your permanent restoration once osseointegration is complete. This process usually takes anywhere from four to six months. Then, you’ll have your crown installed and walk out of our San Antonio office with your new, complete smile.
Multiple Tooth Restorations
If you’re missing multiple adjacent teeth, Dr. Reger may recommend an implant supported bridge. This is a singular restoration supported by two implants, one at each end of the bridge.
Unlike traditional bridges, implant supported bridges don’t rely on your surrounding teeth for support. This saves your healthy teeth from being shaved down and becoming more prone to decay. Because this restoration requires fewer implants, your visit and healing period will be much shorter.
All-on-4
For patients missing their upper, lower, or both arches of teeth, Dr. Reger recommends an innovative new approach called All-on-4. With this treatment, Dr. Reger can replace an entire arch of teeth with only four implants and a singular permanent denture.
Dr. Reger will perform any necessary extractions and install four implants per arch. Then, he’ll attach a temporary restoration that you’ll wear until your permanent restoration is ready.
The All-on-4 process is often ideal for patients who have lost jaw bone density because the implants make strategic use of your existing bone structure. This eliminates the need for supplemental procedures like bone grafting and increases your chances of candidacy. With fewer required implants, you’ll save both time and money.
Implant Supported Dentures
For patients who want a more secure option than traditional dentures, Dr. Reger recommends implant supported dentures.
Implant supported dentures are supported by four to six implants. Your restoration piece snaps on and off, so it’ll stay attached while still being easy to remove for cleaning.
Similarly to All-on-4 and implant supported bridges, implant supported dentures can save you time and money by using a minimal amount of implants.
