All-on-4® Implants in San Antonio, TX

More Easily Feel Confident In Your Smile

Dental implants are an effective, long lasting method for restoring your smile that also helps protect your oral health. However, for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, having individual implants installed for every tooth lost may prove to be too impractical. This can be due to a number of factors, foremost being time and cost. Fortunately, at Reger Family Dental, Dr. Reger has an alternative to replacing every lost tooth with an implant option called All-on-4.

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is an efficient solution to restore your missing teeth and give you back your confidence. This process is called “All-on 4” because it uses just four dental implants and singular restoration pieces to restore a full arch of teeth. All-on-4 is a great alternative to dentures if you’re looking to gain the freedom to talk and eat in public without concern.

Benefits of All-on-4 Implants

We understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable with how your smile looks and feels when you’re with friends and family. All-on-4 implants have the potential to help you look and feel your best throughout the entire implant process, while cutting back on time and costs. Here are some of the many benefits of All-on-4 dental implants:

No need for supplemental procedures – For patients who have worn dentures or dealt with missing teeth for an extended period of time, gum tissue recession and jawbone deterioration is not uncommon. All-on-4 makes use of your existing gum tissue and bone structure, so you don’t have to undergo a supplemental procedure to increase your chances of implant success.

Cost Effective – Because Dr. Reger only uses four implants to secure your restoration, the cost of your implants is significantly reduced.

Protection Against Tooth Loss Related Health Issues – All-on-4 also provides better protection against tooth loss-related health issues such as gum disease, jawbone deterioration, and misalignment than non-implant restorations.

Durability – Like other implant solutions, All-on-4 implants can last twenty years to a lifetime with proper oral hygiene and regular dental exams at Reger Family Dental.

Stability – Your All-on-4 implants will fuse to your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. Even though the All-on-4 method uses fewer implants, the osseointegration process ensures your implants stay stable and secure in your mouth. This will allow you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Shorter Installation Time – Fewer implants means your installation time will be greatly reduced.

Don’t Go Toothless – Dr. Reger will provide you with a fully functional set of temporary prosthetic teeth to wear while your implants are integrating, so you don’t have to continue going without teeth.

Easy Maintenance – You can care for your All-on-4 dental implants the same way as your normal teeth– with proper oral hygiene and regular dental exams at Reger Family Dental.

The All-on-4 Process

  1. You’ll meet with Dr. Reger for an initial consultation where he’ll thoroughly examine your mouth, review your medical history, discuss available sedation dentistry options, and ask you questions about your oral health goals. This will allow him to determine if All-on-4 dental implants are right for you.
  2. Once Dr. Reger has decided that All-on-4 dental implants are right for you, we’ll take impressions and images of your teeth. These will be sent to a special lab where they’ll serve as the blueprints for your custom-made, All-on-4 restorations.
  3. To prepare you for your All-on-4 dental implants, we’ll apply a local anesthetic to numb your mouth, so you won’t feel any pain. If you’re prone to dental phobia, we can apply your chosen sedation dentistry option at this time to relax you during your procedure.
  4. Once we’ve ensured your anesthetic and sedation is working properly, Dr. Reger will perform any necessary surgical procedures, such as extractions, to aid in the placement of your implants. Then, he’ll drill small holes into your gums where the implants will be inserted.
  5. Once your titanium posts are implanted into your jawbone, Dr. Reger will place your attractive temporary All-on-4 prosthetic. As soon as the dental implants become fully integrated with the bones in your jaw, you can return to our San Antonio office so Dr. Reger can place your permanent prosthetic.

Am I A Candidate For All-on-4?

Even if you’ve been told in the past that you couldn’t get dental implants, All-on-4 may be right for you. You may be a candidate for All-on-4 dental implants if:

  • You want dental implants but don’t qualify due to jawbone deterioration and/or gum tissue loss
  • You want permanent restorations that will fully restore your smile
  • You want to preserve or enhance your oral health
  • You want a strong bite
  • You want to be able to eat, speak, and smile with confidence

To see if you’re a good candidate for All-on-4 treatment, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Chris Reger. He’ll be happy to sit down with you, examine your teeth, hear your concerns, and help you find the perfect solution for your smile.

What is the cost of All-on-4 dental implants?
Is the All-on-4 procedure painful?

No, the All-on-4 treatment isn’t painful because Dr. Reger will apply local anesthesia to numb the surgical area before your treatment. This will ensure you don’t feel any pain while your implants are placed.

As with any surgical procedure, you’ll likely experience some discomfort for a few days after treatment. Most patients only report mild symptoms, but we can prescribe pain medication if needed.

How long does the All-on-4 procedure take?
Perhaps the greatest advantage of All-on-4 is that we can provide you with a temporary prosthetic immediately after surgery, allowing you to leave your first appointment with a natural-looking, fully-functional smile. You also won’t need a bone graft, helping to save additional time and money.

In a few months, when the implants have fully integrated with your jaw, you can return to our office for your final restoration. Once your dentures are attached, you can enjoy the benefits of a healthy and beautiful smile for many years to come.

How do you clean All-on-4 implant-supported dentures?
Maintaining your restorations is crucial to extending the life of your implants. Fortunately, cleaning your All-on-4 restorations is as easy as cleaning your natural teeth — just brush twice and floss once every day to keep them looking spotless. We also recommend using an alcohol-free mouthwash along with using non-abrasive toothpaste.

Supplement your oral hygiene care routine with dental cleanings and exams at our San Antonio, TX dental office. There, we’ll meticulously clean your teeth and make any necessary adjustments to your restorations.

What is the cost of All-on-4 dental implants?
The cost of All-on-4 dental implants varies based on factors such as how many arches you need replaced, your level of oral health, and your insurance. We encourage you to call your insurance provider beforehand and ask them if they can cover some or all of the cost of your All-on-4 dental implants. We also offer third party-financing through CareCredit to help make your treatment more affordable.
